Who we are
Rethink Advocacy provides services under the Care Act, Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act, and in other situations where advocacy is not a legal right. We support people of all ages, including those who live with mental illness and learning, physical and sensory disabilities. We usually work with people who need support relating to their care and treatment, and don’t currently have a family member or friend to help them.
Nicola IMCA & RPR advocate
I am an advocate practicing Independent Mental Capacity Advocacy and Relevant Person Paid Representative work. I feel proud to be able to give people a voice, represent them and draw out their best potential.
Emma Volunteer advocate
I'm a medical student, hoping to train in forensic psychiatry. As a volunteer advocate I've realised how important it is that people can access the services they need, and be empowered to make their own decisions. It's a fantastic opportunity for me to make a difference while developing my skills and knowledge.
Mel CYP advocate
I’ve been working with children and young people for a few years now, and have been an advocate for around four years. I really enjoy meeting young people and helping them have their voice heard and to understand their rights
